Four individuals abducted on January 5, 2026, along the Omu-Aran–Isanlu-Isin Road in Kwara State have regained freedom.
Sources confirmed that the victims were released on Wednesday. According to Channels TV, a security official, who verified the development, said, “The released individuals are receiving treatment in various hospitals in Ilorin and Omu-Aran respectively.”
Meanwhile, violence struck again in the area. On Tuesday evening, gunmen reportedly killed one person and abducted another along Correctional Centre Road.
“Residents of Isanlu-Isin and neighbouring communities are in a panicking mood, as a result of which some schools have closed down,” the source added.

In a separate incident, security operatives arrested a suspected bandit who allegedly posed as a beggar in Igbaja, located in Ifelodun Local Government Area.
Confirming the arrest, a security source said, “The suspect was caught disguising himself as a beggar in Igbaja.”
The source further revealed that intelligence indicated that several bandits fled Baba Sango after discovering that their informants, who were posing as beggars while moving around towns and villages in Kwara South, were under surveillance.
According to additional intelligence, armed groups believed to be hiding in Baba Sango and Oro-Ago have begun dispersing to other communities within the senatorial district, adopting disguises to evade arrest.
