A fully loaded fuel tanker has exploded on Thursday night at Apata junction (opposite Oando filling station), along Ibadan/Abeokuta road.
The tanker was said to have lost control and rammed into some shops while making its way from the NNPC area.
It immediately went up in flames. While the casualty figure in the incident is yet to be ascertained, operatives of the Oyo State fire service arrived the scene some minutes after the fire started.
The fire extended to buildings around the area.
