The World Boxing Council and World Boxing Organisation super welterweight world titles were retained in Las Vegas on Saturday when Sebastian Fundora stopped Chordale Booker in the fourth round.
Known as the “Towering Inferno,” Fundora is a six-foot, six-inch southpaw who defeated Australian Tim Tszyu in a split decision to make a strong maiden defence of the titles he won last March.
In the third round, the American champion smashed his countryman Booker, and in the fourth, he dropped him twice. Booker was sent to the canvas by a vicious left hook and two stinging uppercuts, and the attack continued after Booker got up.

Thomas Taylor, the referee, stopped the fourth round at 2:51.
“I’ve felt ready this whole time since my last fight,” Fundora declared after increasing his record to 22-1 with 14 victories inside the distance and one tie. It was 23-2 for Booker.
“Over the past year, I’ve put in a lot of effort to be prepared. The possibilities are endless now that I’ve successfully defended my two titles,” Fundora said, adding that he would like to become an undisputed world champion like his sister, flyweight Gabriela Fundora.
“Whoever they have for me next, I’ll be ready,” he stated.
