At least 20 Palestinians were killed in a series of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip on Sunday, despite the ceasefire agreement reached with Hamas, according to reports.
Medical sources said five people were killed and several others injured when an Israeli fighter jet struck a coffee shop in a residential area in the central town of Al-Zawayda, where hospitals and tents for displaced civilians are located.
Four Palestinians were also killed, and 13 others, including children, were wounded when an airstrike hit a tent sheltering displaced people inside a school in the Nuseirat refugee camp.
Two more people were killed near the “Al-Ahli Club” in the same camp, while another strike on civilians in the area claimed three additional lives.
In northern Gaza, two people were reportedly killed in a drone strike near Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia. The Israeli army also bombed a house in the Bureij refugee camp, killing four and injuring eight others.
Witnesses said two more civilians were injured in another strike on a displacement tent west of Khan Younis in the south.
According to a correspondent, Israeli forces launched what was described as a “belt of fire” towards eastern Khan Younis, an area still under their occupation.

The latest attacks followed strikes in Rafah, which Israel claimed came after its troops were targeted by missiles and gunfire — allegations Hamas has denied.
Israeli army spokesman Avichay Adraee urged Palestinians to remain west of a yellow line marking troop withdrawal zones under the US-brokered ceasefire, warning that areas east of it were “highly dangerous combat zones.”
The army said it launched “a series of strikes against Hamas targets” in response to “the blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement.” Hamas, however, insisted it had not breached the deal.
The ceasefire and hostage exchange, brokered on October 8, under a plan proposed by US President Donald Trump, includes rebuilding Gaza and forming a new governing mechanism excluding Hamas.
Since October 2023, Israel’s offensive has killed nearly 68,200 Palestinians and injured over 170,200, according to Gaza health authorities.
