The Ghanaian government has deported three Israeli nationals in response to what it describes as the ill-treatment and unjustified removal of three Ghanaian citizens by Israeli authorities.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the decision in a statement on Wednesday, explaining that the action was taken after three Ghanaians were allegedly mistreated and unlawfully deported from Israel. According to the statement, the three Israelis deported from Ghana had arrived in the country earlier in the day.
Following the incident, the Chargé d’Affaires ad Interim of the Embassy of Israel in Accra was urgently summoned by Ghana’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as the Israeli Ambassador is currently outside Ghana’s jurisdiction. Both governments have reportedly agreed to work toward an amicable resolution.

The Foreign Ministry emphasised that Ghana remains committed to safeguarding the dignity and rights of its nationals, while also respecting the rights of citizens from other countries.
“Ghana deeply values our relations with all friendly countries and expects our citizens to be treated with dignity and respect in the same way other governments expect Ghana to treat their nationals,” the statement read.
The government reiterated that it will continue to protect its citizens abroad while upholding fair treatment for foreign nationals within its borders.
