Ghana’s Queen Mothers Laud First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo

The First Lady of the Republic of Ghana, Rebecca Akufo-Addo has received praise from the Queen Mothers for her demonstrated leadership skills and support of the government’s initiatives to enhance lives in various communities.

The President of the All Regions Queen Mothers Association, Nana Otubea II, and the Paramount Queen, Nkonya Ahenkro, spoke on behalf of the queen mothers at the meeting in Accra. They claimed that the First Lady had supported numerous initiatives in the various communities through the Rebecca Foundation to improve lives, particularly for women and children.

The construction of creches at some markets in various towns and villages, as well as some sizable donations from Mrs. Akufo-Addo’s organisation to schools and hospitals, Nana Otubea, who is also the president of the Oti Queen Mothers Association, said they had made a significant difference in the lives of the people.

“We are particularly grateful for building crèches at some marketplaces, your kind donations to schools and hospitals, and the inclusion of the four major childhood cancers on the NHIS, which have helped in so many ways,” she said.

On her part, Mrs. Akufo-Addo expressed her deep gratitude to the Queen Mothers for attending in large numbers to admire her works.

She urged the Queen Mothers to do everything they could to help the people have a better future.

“I am extremely delighted to see you all here and for the important recognition you have given me and my foundation.

“I must say that you all are the First Ladies in your various communities, kindly always do your positive best to help your people in whatever ways you can for the growth of the country,” she said.
