Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner confirmed on Friday that he will leave the Premier League club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Austrian coach led the Eagles to their first major trophy last season, guiding them to an FA Cup triumph. He also won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022 and has since attracted interest from Manchester United and Tottenham.

“A decision was made months ago,” Glasner told reporters ahead of Palace’s trip to Sunderland on Saturday. He said he informed Chairman Steve Parish during a meeting in October that he would not renew his contract.

Glasner joined Palace in February 2024 and steered the club away from relegation to secure a 10th-place finish. Last season, Palace finished 12th but enjoyed their greatest moment in history by defeating Manchester City 1–0 at Wembley to lift the FA Cup.

The victory earned the club European qualification for the first time, although they were later moved from the Europa League to the Conference League after breaching multi-club ownership rules.

Throughout the campaign, Glasner has expressed frustration over the limited size of his squad. After a strong start, Palace have struggled for form and are now winless in nine matches, including a shock FA Cup defeat to sixth-tier Macclesfield.

He also confirmed that club captain Marc Guehi is close to completing a move to Manchester City.

Despite his impending departure, Glasner pledged to remain fully committed and to chase further success in the Conference League.

“I’m looking for a new challenge,” he said. “I haven’t spoken to any other club, but I promise to give everything to achieve the best season in Crystal Palace’s history.”
