Rivers State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara, has extended an official invitation to the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, and other lawmakers for a crucial meeting at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
The invitation, issued on March 7 by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, marks the first time the governor has addressed Amaewhule as the Speaker. It follows a March 5 letter from Fubara, in which he acknowledged the receipt of the Supreme Court’s judgment.
The agenda for the meeting includes discussions on providing an appropriate space for the Assembly’s sittings, resolving outstanding remuneration and allowances, presenting the state budget, and addressing other issues critical to the state’s development.
Lawmakers have been requested to attend the meeting on Monday, March 10, at 10 a.m. at the governor’s office.
