Atletico Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer, Antoine Griezmann, will join MLS side Orlando City at the conclusion of the current season.

The two clubs confirmed the move on Tuesday, announcing that the 35-year-old Frenchman has agreed to a two-year contract with the Florida-based team.

Griezmann recently travelled to Orlando with Atletico’s permission to finalise the details of the agreement, marking the end of a legendary decade-long tenure with the Rojiblancos.

Since joining Real Sociedad in 2014—and despite a brief stint at Barcelona—Griezmann has been the focal point of the Atletico attack.

He now aims to finish his final season in Spain on a high note, with Atletico currently preparing for a Champions League quarterfinal against Barcelona and the Copa del Rey final against Real Sociedad on April 18.

Griezmann will move to North America in July, joining a growing list of famous people from around the world who have moved to the MLS in recent years, including former teammates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Orlando City owner Mark Wilf hailed the signing as a testament to the club’s championship ambitions.

While Orlando have struggled at the start of the 2026 season, the arrival of a world-class talent like Griezmann is expected to revitalise the roster as they chase their first-ever MLS Cup.
