Gunmen Kidnap Ex-Ebonyi Deputy Governor’s Father

Francis Igwe, father of former Ebonyi State Deputy Governor Kelechi Igwe, was reportedly abducted on Sunday morning in Ndufu-Alike.

According to local sources, Igwe was on his way to church when armed men on a motorcycle intercepted his vehicle.

The assailants allegedly forced him out of the car and took him to an undisclosed location.

Sunday Nwankwo, Chairman of Ikwo Local Government Area, confirmed the incident, saying the council was cooperating with security agencies to gather information and support efforts to secure Igwe’s release.

Calls and messages to the Police Public Relations Officer, Joshua Ukandu, were not returned at the time of reporting.
