At least 13 people were killed, and several others abducted after armed bandits attacked a wedding in Kahir village, Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State, late Sunday, local authorities and residents said.
Police confirmed the incident but said they were still gathering full details, including the exact number of abducted victims.
Community leader Musa Adamu told reporters the attackers, armed with sophisticated weapons, stormed the wedding venue around 11:47 p.m., firing indiscriminately at guests.
Several attendees were injured and taken to the General Hospital in Kagarko, while those with critical wounds were referred to medical facilities in Kaduna.

Residents said the gunmen operated for nearly an hour without resistance, looting nearby shops and taking food, provisions, and drugs from a local chemist.
According to police authorities, a manhunt for the attackers has also started with the goal of apprehending and prosecuting them.
Kaduna is among several northwestern states, including Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, and Katsina, that have been affected by violent attacks by armed bandits.
In parts of Kebbi and Sokoto, a terror group known as Lakurawa has been blamed for similar raids, often stealing livestock and imposing “taxes” on local communities.
