One person has been killed after gunmen attacked the Koro community in Kwara State’s Ekiti Local Government Area on Sunday, leaving residents in panic.
The heavily armed assailants fired sporadically, forcing people to flee their homes. The community borders Egbe in Kogi State’s Yagba West Local Government Area, in Nigeria’s North-Central region.
This assault comes just days after terrorists struck the Woro community in the Kaiama Local Government Area, killing at least 75 people and destroying houses and property.

Police Public Relations Officer Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed the casualty figures and said investigations are ongoing.
In response, President Bola Tinubu ordered troops to the area and condemned the attack, calling it cowardly and inhumane.
He directed the immediate deployment of an army battalion to Kaiama LGA to lead Operation Savannah Shield, aimed at protecting vulnerable communities and tackling the terrorists.
