Erling Haaland played a key role in Manchester City’s 3-1 comeback victory over Chelsea on Saturday, helping them climb into the Premier League top four at the Blues’ expense.
Chelsea took the lead early, thanks to a mistake by Abdukodir Khusanov on his debut, which allowed Noni Madueke to open the scoring. However, City quickly responded through Josko Gvardiol’s equalizer, before Haaland showed his strength and skill to chip in the go-ahead goal with 22 minutes remaining.
Haaland also provided an assist for Phil Foden, sealing City’s fourth win in five league games. Chelsea’s struggles continued, with just one win in their last seven matches, and concerns over goalkeeper Robert Sanchez’s positioning during Haaland’s decisive goal.
City’s victory strengthens their position for Champions League qualification next season, while they face a crucial midweek clash with Club Brugge to secure a spot in the Champions League knockout stages.
