The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has ordered the deployment of Police Mobile Force units and other tactical teams to Plateau State following the March 29 attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos North Local Government Area, which left several residents dead.
Disu condemned the violence and directed a “massive deployment of security assets” to restore calm, protect vulnerable communities, and apprehend those responsible, according to a statement on Wednesday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Anthony Placid.
The deployment includes additional tactical teams, Police Mobile Force units, and intelligence operatives working alongside other security agencies to prevent further breakdowns in law and order.

The Inspector General of Police states that these actions will continue until normal conditions return. He has instructed all operational commanders to ensure visible policing and actively engage with vulnerable communities.
Disu calls on members of the public to remain calm and vigilant, to cooperate with security agencies, and to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
He further urges citizens to promptly report any incidents or suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities to support ongoing operations.
