The first sitting of the National Assembly is being held on Friday at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.

South Africa’s new president-elect will be chosen in a new government of national unity (GNU) after a week of accelerated multiparty coalition talks. This will usher in the seventh administration. Here are pictures of the 400 parliamentarians being sworn in.
