INEC Adhoc Personnel Stranded in Southwest Nigeria

Hours into the start of the elections, INEC ad hoc staff deployed to Ibadan North Local Government were seen stranded at the Immanuel College High School premises along the Samonda-U.I road.

According to Radio Nigeria Ibadan, the Adhoc staff was still waiting for vehicles to transport them and the election materials.

After getting tired of waiting, some people decided to board a tricycle to get to their destination.

A similar situation can be found in Unit 20 ward 5, Egbeda Local Government, where Adhoc is still waiting for vehicles and security escort to transport election materials. Eligible voters were seen checking for their names on the voter’s list at some of the units visited, including Ibadan SW, Ibadan North East, and Akinyele.

While some Adhoc employees had already arrived at the polling places, others were still arriving

Security personnel from the Nigerian Army, Police Force, and NSCDC were seen strategically positioned throughout the city. Members of the Nigerian Red Cross Society were also preparing in case of an emergency.
