INEC’s Public Affairs Officer in Osun, Musa Olurode, said on Sunday that the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Mutiu Agboke, confirmed that 14 political parties successfully submitted the names and documents of their candidates within the official deadline.
According to the statement, the submissions were made after the conclusion of party primaries and the closure of the portal for uploading candidates’ particulars.
Olurode noted that INEC verified all submissions to ensure they met constitutional and regulatory requirements before releasing the list from its Abuja headquarters.

The 14 qualifying parties include Accord (A), Action Alliance (AA), African Action Congress (AAC), African Democratic Congress (ADC), Action Democratic Party (ADP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), All Progressives Congress (APC), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Action Peoples Party (APP), Boot Party (BP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Young Progressives Party (YPP), and Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
The commission said that copies of each candidate’s Form EC9, academic credentials, and other supporting documents will be displayed at its Osun State office, all 30 local government offices, and the Area Office starting Monday, February 16, 2026, for public inspection.
Olurode added that only these 14 parties, having complied with the requirements within the stipulated timeframe, are eligible to participate in the election.
He also reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to conducting transparent and credible elections.Â
