The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the schedule for Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection and a mock accreditation exercise ahead of the 2025 Anambra State Governorship Election.
In a statement issued on Monday, October 20, by the Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Victoria Eta-Messi, INEC said eligible voters who registered during the recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) can collect their PVCs between Wednesday, October 22, and Sunday, October 26, 2025.
The Commission urged all registered voters to collect their PVCs at their designated registration areas, noting that collection must be done in person, as proxy collection will not be allowed.
INEC described the exercise as essential for voter participation in the forthcoming governorship election.
The Commission also announced that a mock accreditation exercise will take place on Saturday, 25 October 2025, in selected polling units across Anambra’s three senatorial districts.
According to INEC, the mock exercise aims to test the functionality of the upgraded Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), assess its reliability, and evaluate the transmission of results to the INEC Result Viewing (IReV) Portal in preparation for the main election.

Selected polling units include:
Anambra Central: Awka South (Amawbia II – Igwédimma Primary School I & II), Idemili North (Nkpor II – Ububa Village Square, Ifeadigo Hall).
Anambra North: Oyi (Nteje III & IV – Girls Secondary School, State Primary School), Anambra East (Aguleri II – Central School, Umunoke Public Square I).
Anambra South: Aguata (Ekwulobia I & II – Central School, Urban Girls Secondary School), Orumba North (Ajalli I – Primary School, RCM KDT School).
INEC encouraged residents in the listed areas to participate actively in the mock accreditation, noting that their feedback will be valuable in refining operational and technological procedures before the election.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, efficiency, and stakeholder confidence, the Commission assured that all necessary arrangements are in place for a credible and hitch-free governorship election in the state.
The Anambra governorship election, scheduled for November 8, 2025, will conclude Governor Charles Soludo’s first term under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The contest is expected to be intense, featuring major parties such as the Labour Party (LP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and APGA, all vying for control of the state widely regarded as Peter Obi’s political base.
