Iran Demands Guarantees to End War

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has called for firm guarantees to prevent future attacks as a condition for ending the ongoing conflict with the US and Israel.

In a phone conversation with UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, reported by Iran’s official news agency IRNA, Araghchi stressed that the path to peace must include safeguards to ensure there is no recurrence of hostilities.

“The path to normalising conditions is the cessation of these attacks. The cessation of war must be accompanied by guarantees to prevent the recurrence of such aggressions,” Araghchi said, highlighting Iran’s insistence on securing long-term assurances before agreeing to end the conflict.

In addition, Araghchi strongly warned against any support for the US and Israel during the escalating crisis. He cautioned, “Such actions will only escalate the situation and make conditions more complicated,” signalling the risks of external involvement in the conflict.

Araghchi further urged the UK to refrain from cooperating with the US and Israel, particularly in the military and media sectors, warning that such actions would only serve to complicate efforts for peace.
