Iran Urges UN to Act Over Alleged US, Israeli Aggression

Iran on Saturday called on the United Nations Security Council to take what it described as “immediate” action to halt what Tehran termed unlawful aggression by the United States and Israel.

In a letter addressed to the UN Secretary-General, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said the Security Council must urgently intervene.

He said that the council should “address the US and Israeli regime’s acts of aggression” and “take the necessary and immediate measures to halt this unlawful use of force.”

Tehran maintains that the recent military actions violate international law and has appealed for swift diplomatic engagement at the highest level of the United Nations.
