The President of Türkiye, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, emphasised on Wednesday that the country stands with diplomatic and peaceful resolution of conflicts as the US/Israel-Iran war intensifies and the crisis in the Middle East deepens.
Erdoğan, who delivered a message regarding the war at an iftar event in the country’s capital, Ankara, detailed the country’s active diplomatic engagement, revealing that Ankara is making “intensive efforts to ensure guns fall silent, a ceasefire is achieved, and talks resume.”
“Türkiye stands for diplomacy, not conflict. It stands with peace and stability, not chaos and turmoil. It seeks rapprochement, not hostility,” said Erdoğan.
The Türkiye President also knocked Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, stating that “even Israelis, spending nights in shelters, now say Netanyahu is their biggest disaster since the Holocaust.”

On February 28, the U.S. and Israel launched joint strikes against Iran and killed former Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Over 1,300 people have been reportedly killed in the war. Iran also retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.
World leaders have appealed to the warring parties to lay down their arms and urged them to resolve their differences through dialogue, but neither party has flinched, and the war intensifies.
U.S. President Donald Trump said the war would end soon, but Iran has vowed to keep fighting.
