Former two-time heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has opened up about the pain of losing two close friends, Sina Ghami and Latif Ayodele, saying, ” 100 percent it’s tough for me, but I know it’s even tougher for their parents.”

In a post on X on Thursday, Joshua paid tribute to the men and thanked the public for their support.

Joshua also expressed gratitude to fans and well-wishers for the love and care extended to the families of the deceased.

Describing Ghami and Ayodele as his “brothers”, the boxer said he did not fully appreciate how special they were while they were alive.

Joshua wrote, “Thank you for all the love and care you have shown my brothers. I didn’t even realise how special they are.

“I’ll just be walking with them and cracking jokes with them, not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men. 100 percent, it’s tough for me, but I know it’s even tougher for their parents ❤️

“I have a strong mind, and I believe God knows their hearts. May God have mercy on my brothers 🙏🏾”

The boxer survived a car crash on December 29, 2025, along the Lagos-Ibadan Motorway. The accident claimed the lives of his friends and team members, Ghami and Ayodele, who died at the scene.
