Ivorian Defender, Sol Bamba Treated For Cancer

Former Ivorian international, Sol Bamba has been diagnosed of cancer.

Bamba who plies his trade with Cardiff is being treated of Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma as he currently undergoes chemotherapy.

“Sol has begun his battle in typically positive spirits and will continue to be an integral part of the Bluebirds family,” said Cardiff in a statement.

Bamba has been at Cardiff since 2016, when the Welsh team was under Neil Warnock.

“During treatment Sol will support his team mates at matches and younger players within the Academy, with whom he will continue his coaching development.”

Bamba has made over 100 appearances in the last five years for Cardiff City and helped the Bluebirds to promotion to the EPL in 2018.

The Ivorian has played in a host of European countries including Italy, England, France, Turkey etc.
