Jack Draper Withdraws from Key Tournaments

British tennis star Jack Draper has pulled out of the upcoming Masters 1000 tournaments in Toronto and Cincinnati due to a minor arm injury, as he focuses on returning to full fitness for the US Open next month.

The 22-year-old, currently ranked world number five, announced on social media that he had suffered a slight issue with his left arm following his second-round exit at Wimbledon, where he lost to 2014 US Open champion Marin Čilić.

“After Wimbledon, I picked up an injury in my left arm—nothing too serious—but I need to make sure it fully recovers for the rest of the season,” Draper posted on X. “Unfortunately, I won’t be able to compete in Toronto and Cincinnati… See you in NYC!”

The Toronto Masters, also known as the Canadian Open, kicks off on July 27, while the Cincinnati Open runs from August 7 to 18. Both are key hardcourt events in the run-up to the US Open, which begins on August 26.

Draper joins Wimbledon champion Jannik Sinner and 24-time Grand Slam winner Novak Djokovic on the list of high-profile withdrawals from the Canadian tournament.

Despite the setback, Draper remains optimistic about being fully fit for the final Grand Slam of the season in New York.
