Veteran England striker Jamie Vardy has joined newly promoted Serie A side Cremonese, the Italian club confirmed on Monday. The 38-year-old, whose prolific goals helped Leicester City secure their miraculous 2016 Premier League title, signed a one-year contract with an option to extend, finalising the move just hours before the transfer window closed.
Vardy, a free agent since leaving Leicester in May, scored 145 Premier League goals in 342 appearances during his long-term spell at the King Power Stadium.

He arrives at Cremonese after the club secured victories in their opening two Serie A fixtures, including a notable 2-1 win over AC Milan at the San Siro.
The former Leicester and England forward joins a growing number of ex-Premier League stars now playing in Italy. Scott McTominay has already enjoyed success at Napoli, helping the southern club lift the Serie A title in May, and has been joined this season by former Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne.
