The Kano Court of Appeal has overruled the decision of a High Court which declared Muhammad Abacha as the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Kano state.
As a result, the court has upheld the recognition of Sadiq Aminu Wali as the legitimate PDP flagbearer for the position as initially recognised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Wali resigned in March 2022 as Kano Commissioner for Water Resources and defected to PDP.
