At least five people have been confirmed dead following a suspected explosion involving a military-grade mortar bomb in a community within Kano State.
The incident, believed to have stemmed from mishandled or improperly transported military ordnance, also left 10 others injured.

Kano State Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Bakori, who promptly visited the scene, stated that preliminary investigations suggest the explosive was being transported by a trailer from Yobe State. However, it remains unclear whether the vehicle was operated by military personnel or civilian contractors.
Commissioner Bakori confirmed that a total of 15 individuals were affected by the blast. “Five have died, while 10 others are currently receiving treatment in the hospital,” he announced.
The explosion has raised concerns about the handling and transportation of military explosives in civilian areas.
