American rapper Kanye West has criticised the business acumen of most American artistes, stating that they need to learn from Nigerians, Jews, Chinese, and Indians.

During an interview with DJ Akademiks, West pointed out that many U.S. rappers rely heavily on foreign investors and lawyers to manage their careers, rather than taking control of their own financial and business decisions.

“None of these nggas [rappers] are as smart as me. I can’t say for the tech dudes… But artistes are dumb, bro. It’s like, they can’t even f*king count, bro.”

Kanye West also remarked that Jewish lawyers and investors control most record labels and TV networks in the U.S. He challenged his fellow artistes to take greater ownership of their careers and build their own enterprises instead of relying on external investors.

“Go and ask them to run a whole record label without a Jewish person… Go and set up your whole TV network, make it run, no Jewish investor, let me see how that works.”

He praised Nigerian creatives and entrepreneurs for taking charge of their business.

“Until motherf*kers can really get their stuff together like the Nigerians, the Chinese, the Jewish or like the tech Indian or some sht, everything I’m saying counts, ” he added.
