US rapper Kanye West, now legally known as Ye, made a brief appearance on Friday outside the Manhattan federal courthouse to show support for music mogul Sean Combs, who is currently on trial for alleged sex trafficking and racketeering.
Although West did not enter the courtroom, he observed the proceedings from an adjacent room via closed-circuit video alongside one of Combs’s sons before leaving shortly afterwards.
When questioned by ABC whether his visit was to back Combs, West nodded affirmatively and replied, “Yes.”
His presence came a day after a former girlfriend of Combs, who testified under the pseudonym Jane, concluded her emotional testimony. She provided graphic details of how Combs allegedly coerced her into drug-fuelled sexual encounters with escorts.

Jane’s account aligned closely with testimony from another key witness, Combs’s longtime girlfriend, Casandra Ventura, who described such encounters as “freak-offs.” Jane also revealed that she had travelled on a well-known rapper’s private plane to Las Vegas and had even recommended a male escort to that rapper and his girlfriend.
For nearly a month, jurors have heard numerous witnesses outline Combs’s extensive influence over staff and ex-partners. The 55-year-old music executive faces life imprisonment if found guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking charges. Combs has pleaded not guilty, with his legal team maintaining that the encounters deemed sex trafficking by prosecutors were consensual.
The trial is expected to continue into June.
