Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Muhammad Zuru, has passed away. A statement issued by Murtala Diri, an official of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, confirmed the tragic news on his official Facebook page.
Zuru, who represented the Zuru Constituency, was a prominent political figure within the Zuru Emirate. He served as Speaker of the 10th Kebbi State Assembly, where he was highly regarded for his leadership and commitment to his constituents. Known by many as “Lifiddan Zuru,” he had been undergoing medical treatment in Cairo, Egypt, when he passed away on Monday evening.

The press release highlighted that Zuru’s death marks a significant loss not only to the Zuru Emirate but to the entire state and legislative body.
“The death of the Speaker is a significant loss to his constituents, the legislative body, and the state in general,” the statement read.
Zuru’s tenure as Speaker was marked by his dedication to improving the legislative process in Kebbi, advocating for development in his constituency and beyond.
