Kenyan Government Recalls HIV Drug Supplied by KEMSA

The Kenyan government has recalled a Universal Corporation Limited-manufactured HIV medication.

The discolouration of the Tenofovir-Lamivudine-Dolutegravir (TDL) 300/300/50 mg tablets was the reason given by the Ministry of Health for the decision to recall the HIV medication.

The Ministry of Health and Human Services said in a statement that continuing quality analysis and consideration of its consequences for the customers’ safety are currently ongoing.

According to Patrick Amoth, acting director general for the Kenyan Department of Health, there are sufficient national supplies of HIV tablets from other manufacturers.
