Sheila Chepkirui of Kenya won the New York Marathon women’s championship in her race debut on Sunday, clocking two hours, 24 minutes, and 35 seconds.
Hellen Obiri, Kenya’s 2023 New York Marathon winner, finished 14 seconds behind in second place, with Vivian Cheruiyot rounding out the Kenyan podium in 2:25:21.
