Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, issued a defiant written address on Friday to mark the Persian New Year, Nowruz, asserting that the “enemies” of the Islamic Republic are facing defeat.
In his message, he credited a newfound national unity for thwarting the objectives of the United States and Israel during the ongoing conflict.
This statement comes as the country enters the traditional holiday period amid nearly three weeks of intense regional warfare.
The address emphasised that, despite internal religious, political, and cultural differences, the Iranian people have united to stabilise the nation.

Khamenei’s remarks are seen as an effort to consolidate authority and boost domestic morale following the heavy strikes that have targeted the regime’s infrastructure and leadership.
He specifically praised the resilience of the population for maintaining order during the recent transition of power.
Notably, Mojtaba Khamenei has yet to make a formal public appearance since succeeding his father, Ali Khamenei, who was killed at the onset of the war on February 28.
While his message focused on the theme of “victory,” the conflict continues to impact the region, with significant damage reported to energy hubs and ongoing military exchanges.
The Supreme Leader’s choice to communicate via a written statement continues to fuel international speculation regarding his current status and the regime’s long-term strategy.
