The member representing Kabba-Bunu/Ijumu Federal Constituency of Kogi State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Salman Idris has joined the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The lawmaker who won on the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform announced his defection to the ruling party in a letter read by Speaker Abbas Tajudeen during plenary on Tuesday.
Idris said his defection was due to crisis within the national leadership of his former party.
He said, following consultations with his constituents and other stakeholders, he had no option than to defect to the APC.
