South Africa’s Jacques Kruyswijk secured his maiden European Tour victory at the Kenya Open, holding off a strong challenge from England’s John Parry to win by two shots.
The 32-year-old went into the final round at Muthaiga Golf Club with a one-shot lead but saw it vanish early as Parry made back-to-back birdies on the fourth and fifth holes.
However, Kruyswijk responded immediately, sinking consecutive birdies on the sixth and seventh to reclaim the lead.
From there, he remained in control, completing a bogey-free weekend to finish the tournament at 18 under par.
Kruyswijk’s victory makes him the first South African to win the Kenya Open since Justin Harding in 2021.
Despite falling short, Parry finished solo second on 16 under, continuing an impressive season that has already seen him record one victory and two second-place finishes in Africa.
Fellow South African Deon Germishuys secured third place, three shots behind, while Jayden Schaper finished fourth.
Kruyswijk’s flawless weekend and composure under pressure have now cemented his status as a rising force in international golf.
