According to the agency, motorists coming from Wemco Road are advised to divert through Ogba, connecting via Excellent Hotel to College Road and Iju Road, while those approaching from Pen Cinema should use Moshalashi Alhaja Road through Mobil Ashade to continue their journeys.

The mini-marathon, tagged Run for Asiwaju 2027, is being organised by the Orile-Agege LCDA. Organisers said the event is aimed at promoting unity, identifying athletic talent and amassing grassroots support for President Tinubu ahead of the next general elections.

Participation is open to multiple categories, including youths, professionals, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, VIPs and representatives of Hausa and Igbo communities.

Prizes worth ₦2.3 million will be awarded, with the first 200 finishers receiving ₦10,000 each, while seven elite athletes will earn ₦50,000 apiece.

Lagos State House of Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, an endorser of the event, said he would compete in the VIP category and described the marathon as reflecting Tinubu’s leadership vision. He noted earlier that the competition was designed to reward excellence and encourage mass participation.

LASTMA urged road users to cooperate with traffic officials and plan their movements in advance to minimise inconvenience.
