Lagos to Host Investment Summit to Attract Global Investors

The Lagos State government and Sterling One Foundation have announced the upcoming Lagos Investment Summit 2.0, an initiative designed to draw global investors, foster economic growth, and establish Lagos as a leading industrial hub in Africa.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, Folashade Ambrose, Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade, and Investment, emphasised the summit’s crucial role in achieving the state’s long-term development goals.

She noted that the summit represents a “deliberate transition from aspiration to realisation, potential to performance, and discussions to tangible developmental achievements.”

Summit to Foster Global Collaboration and Partnerships

The summit, themed “Scaling Action: Bold Solutions Towards Making Lagos a 21st Century Economy,” is set for July 9. It aligns with the Lagos State Development Plan 2052 and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES+ agenda.

Ambrose explained that the event aims to “galvanise meaningful collaborations and catalytic partnerships” by gathering “visionary investors, forward-looking policymakers, industry pioneers, global stakeholders, and influential development partners.”

A key feature will be “dedicated deal rooms” where government officials can present investment pitches to both local and international investors, facilitating “high-value matchmaking sessions” essential for Lagos’s economic vitality.

Lagos to Host Africa Social Impact Summit

Following the investment summit, Lagos will also co-host the Africa Social Impact Summit 2025 from July 10 to 11. This event, organised by the Office of Sustainable Development Goals, Sterling One Foundation, Sterling Bank, the United Nations, and Arise News, will focus on critical issues like climate resilience, health equity, education, and youth empowerment. Its theme will be “Scaling Action: Bold Solutions for Climate Resilience and Policy Innovation.”

Ambrose concluded by stating that Lagos is strategically positioned at the intersection of opportunity and innovation, extending an open invitation for active participation in the state’s transformative journey.
