The Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency has announced a temporary closure of all public parks under its management to allow for routine maintenance and improvement works.
In a statement dated January 9 and shared on its official platforms early on Saturday, LASPARK said the parks will be closed from January 12 to 31, 2026.
The agency explained that the decision follows the intense use of the facilities during the recent festive season.
LASPARK listed affected sites to include Ndubisi Kanu Park, Alausa JJT Park, and Dr Finnih Abayomi Park in Oregun, as well as all other parks it manages across Lagos State.
According to the agency, the temporary closure will enable essential landscaping, repairs, and general upgrades to ensure the parks remain safe, clean, and enjoyable for residents and visitors.
LASPARK assured Lagosians that the exercise aligns with its wider mandate, describing the maintenance programme as part of its commitment to providing well-kept green spaces that support relaxation, wellbeing and environmental sustainability.
The agency added that it will reopen the parks to the public once the maintenance work is completed.
