Nigeria’s bustling economic centre, is grappling with a severe housing crisis, leaving its nearly 20 million residents struggling with rising rents and unattainable property prices. The situation, already dire, is now spreading to other states, compounding the nationwide problem.

Residents of Lagos are increasingly frustrated, demanding urgent action from housing stakeholders to address the escalating costs. 

A Lagos resident Haruna Fred alleges that the housing sector has become something like a cartel, consisting of landlords, agents and lawyers.
