The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) has confirmed that no lives were lost in a fire outbreak that affected a commercial building at Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos State.

“Upon arrival of the LASEMA Response Team at the incident scene, it was observed that a fire outbreak had occurred in a one-storey commercial building accommodating dealers in computers and accessories in Computer Village, Ikeja,” LASEMA said.

According to the agency, “responders observed active flames and dense smoke, indicating intense combustion within the structure.”

It added that “the high volume of combustible materials contributed to the rapid spread of fire.”

LASEMA said the entire upper floor of the building was destroyed in the blaze, with all items stored there lost.

The structure had been partially compromised and would require immediate assessment, it noted.

“No fatalities were recorded,” the agency said, adding that “one Lagos State firefighter sustained minor injuries during the operation and was administered first aid treatment on site.”

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.

The agency said its team secured the area and coordinated efforts with the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Lagos State Ambulance Service, and the Nigeria Police Force to stop the fire from spreading to nearby buildings.

“All goods and properties worth millions of naira stored therein were totally destroyed by the conflagration.
