LeBron James Hits Milestone in Lakers Win

American basketball legend, LeBron James, has once again made history, this time becoming the oldest player in NBA history to record a triple-double at 41 years old.

On Thursday, James propelled the Los Angeles Lakers to a 124-104 victory over the Dallas Mavericks with a stellar performance, posting 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 12 assists to surpass Karl Malone, who was 40 years and 127 days old when he previously held the record in 2003.

James, who is currently in his 23rd season and remains the NBA’s all-time leading scorer, achieved the milestone with just over two minutes left in the game. This accomplishment came just three days ahead of his 22nd All-Star Game appearance, further cementing his legacy as one of the greatest to ever play the game.

“I don’t take for granted how good he is,” said Lakers head coach JJ Redick. “The more remarkable thing is how much he cares in his 23rd year with all his accomplishments. He’s going to get another ‘oldest player to do X, Y, or Z.’ It’s his day-to-day professionalism that stands out.”

James set the tone early, scoring 14 points in the first quarter, helping the Lakers bounce back from two straight losses. His performance was also highlighted by a standing ovation from the crowd when he was subbed out for his son, Bronny James, just after grabbing his 10th rebound.

In other NBA action, the Milwaukee Bucks triumphed 110-93 over the Oklahoma City Thunder. Ousmane Dieng led the charge against his former team, scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds, six assists, and four blocked shots. Despite the absence of star players Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee dominated the game with seven players scoring in double figures.
