Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama will undertake a three-day State Visit to Zambia from February 4 to 6, 2026, at the invitation of Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema.

In a press statement signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, spokesperson to the President, Minister, and Government Communications, the visit aims to strengthen diplomatic ties between Ghana and Zambia, with bilateral talks expected to focus on trade, investment, cooperation, and opportunities under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

The First Lady, Mrs Lordina Dramani Mahama, will accompany President Mahama.

A major highlight of the visit will be President Mahama’s address to Zambia’s National Assembly, where he is expected to outline Ghana’s vision for deeper African integration and economic growth. He will also meet members of the Ghanaian community in Lusaka.

Both leaders will co-chair a Ghana-Zambia Business Dialogue designed to promote economic partnerships, with Ghana to showcase its digital technologies and fintech services to Zambian businesses and government institutions.

The visit comes as President Mahama continues to advocate for the accelerated implementation of the AfCFTA, which he has described as key to transforming African economies and expanding employment opportunities.

Ahead of the Zambia visit, President Mahama will travel to Dubai on February 1 to attend the World Governments Summit, scheduled for February 2 to 4, at the invitation of the ruler of the United Arab Emirates, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
