Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Monday announced a major cabinet reshuffle, appointing a new Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and reassigning several top officials.

The development was disclosed in a statement released by the governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Sulaimon Olanrewaju.

According to the statement, Makinde removed Professor Olanike Kudirat Adeyemo as SSG with immediate effect and appointed Professor Musibau Adetunji Babatunde as her replacement.

As part of the shake-up, the governor also redeployed Barrister Temilolu Seun Ashamu from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources to the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning.

In addition, Makinde elevated his Senior Special Assistant on Public Works, Ademola Aderinto, to the rank of commissioner-designate. Aderinto is expected to appear before the Oyo State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The reshuffle also saw the appointment of Hon. Abiodun Adedoja as Special Adviser on Energy Security, while Kolawole Elijah Akanmu was named Senior Special Assistant on Budget and Economic Planning.

“These changes are part of the governor’s continued commitment to ensuring efficient service delivery and effective governance in Oyo State,” the statement concluded.
