A man carrying 36 suspected hand grenades has reportedly been arrested by troops of Operation MESA in Ikorodu Local Government Area, Lagos State.

Security sources said that the arrest occurred at about 7:45 p.m. on March 21, following intelligence reports that a civilian was carrying hand grenades near the Agric area during a public event.

According to the sources, troops quickly mobilised to the scene, disarmed the suspect, and took him into custody without incident.

“On arrival, troops secured the area and arrested the suspect who was found in possession of items suspected to be 36 hand grenades,” the source said.

The suspect, identified as a native of Osun State residing in Ikorodu, is reportedly in custody.
