Seven years after her previous release, pop icon Mariah Carey is back with her 16th studio album, ‘Here for It All’.
Initially unsure if the project would materialise, Carey ultimately decided to embrace the moment.
“I was working on this album for so long, and I didn’t even know if I was going to release it,” Carey said. “Then I focused and thought, I’m going to make this my 16th album, which I can’t even believe.”
Describing this chapter as the “era of me,” Carey celebrates new beginnings while reflecting on past milestones, including her 1997 release of the iconic Butterfly album. “It was amazing but also a scary moment,” she recalled, referencing personal struggles at the time.
The 11-track album includes singles such as “Type Dangerous” and “Sugar Sweet,” alongside deeply spiritual songs like “Jesus I Do” and the title track. “I had to include something spiritual—it’s just for me,” she explained.
With a career spanning 35 years, Carey calls this her most liberating era yet. She said she is ready—and determined—to be “here for it all.”
