Real Madrid manager Alvaro Arbeloa confirmed on Monday that Kylian Mbappé is fully fit and prepared to lead the attack in Tuesday’s Champions League quarter-final against Bayern Munich.

After missing the starting lineup in both legs of the previous round against Manchester City due to a knee sprain, the French superstar is expected to reunite with Vinicius Junior at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Arbeloa dismissed concerns regarding the tactical balance of his star-studded roster, describing the availability of elite talents like Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, and Vinicius as a “blessing” rather than a selection headache.

Vinicius Junior also addressed the media, emphasising his “incredible connection” with Mbappé both on and off the pitch.

Despite a recent 2-1 domestic slip-up against Mallorca that left Madrid seven points behind Barcelona in La Liga, Vinicius expressed confidence that the team would be at “200 per cent” for the European tie.

He noted that the highest-calibre matches are defined by world-class players, and he expects Mbappé to thrive in the high-pressure knockout environment he was recruited for.

The press conference also touched on broader social issues, with Vinicius Junior praising Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal for speaking out against Islamophobic chanting during a recent international friendly between Spain and Egypt.

Vinicius, a prominent figure in the global fight against discrimination, reiterated that while entire nations are not defined by prejudice, the presence of racists in various countries remains a persistent challenge.

He called for continued collective action to ensure future generations of athletes do not have to endure such abuse.
