Kylian Mbappé was shown a straight red card for a reckless challenge during Real Madrid’s La Liga match against Alaves on Sunday, marking his first sending-off since joining the Spanish giants.
The French forward was dismissed in the 38th minute after a dangerous, high-footed lunge on Antonio Blanco, a former Madrid midfielder.
Despite being a man down, Los Blancos were already leading 1-0 thanks to an early strike from Eduardo Camavinga.

Mbappé, who has been instrumental since his summer move to the Spanish capital, is currently Madrid’s top scorer in the league with 22 goals. His absence could prove costly as Madrid continue their pursuit of Barcelona, who remain seven points clear at the summit following their narrow 1-0 victory at Leganes on Saturday.
The red card adds a fresh twist to Madrid’s title chase, with Mbappé now facing a suspension during a critical stretch of the season.
