Loic Meillard secured the fourth Olympic gold medal for the Swiss men’s alpine team on Monday, dominating the slalom in Bormio.

The 29-year-old finished with a total time of 1:53.61, holding off Austria’s Fabio Gstrein (silver) and Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen (bronze).

The victory solidifies Switzerland’s utter dominance in Bormio, following three other golds won by teammates Franjo von Allmen and Tanguy Nef.

Meillard, who had already earned a silver and a bronze earlier in the Games, delivered the fastest combined performance after a high-stakes second run.

The race ended in heartbreak for first-leg leader Atle Lie McGrath. The Norwegian crashed out during his final descent after a violent collision with a gate.

In a display of raw frustration, McGrath threw his poles over the safety netting before collapsing in the snow, while the Swiss team celebrated their historic winning streak.
