The Moroccan Football Federation formally backed coach Mohamed Ouahbi on Thursday despite the team’s recent quarterfinal exit at the 2026 World Cup.
Football officials expressed full confidence in the 49-year-old manager, confirming that he will continue in his role as the country prepares to co-host the 2030 tournament alongside Spain and Portugal.
The endorsement follows Morocco’s 2-0 defeat to France last week, which cut their impressive tournament run short.
While the federation did not officially specify the exact duration of the contract, Ouahbi confirmed that his agreement runs through the landmark 2030 World Cup.
He originally succeeded Walid Regragui in March after a highly successful tenure with the youth national team.

Ouahbi previously guided the Moroccan under-20 team to a historic World Cup victory in 2025.
By securing his leadership for the next four years, the federation aims to maintain stability and build a highly competitive squad to play on home soil.
