The Government of Morocco has unveiled its 2026 national budget, placing strong emphasis on healthcare, education, and youth inclusion as part of efforts to promote social development and economic resilience.
According to official statements, the budget is designed to address key social priorities and consolidate gains made under ongoing reform programmes. The plan underscores Morocco’s commitment to improving access to quality healthcare and education while creating opportunities for young people to contribute to national growth.
Finance Minister Nadia Fettah Alaoui highlighted that a significant portion of the 2026 budget would be allocated to expanding healthcare coverage, modernising hospitals, and recruiting additional medical personnel to strengthen public health services. She added that the government aims to ensure that every Moroccan, regardless of income, benefits from accessible and reliable healthcare.

In the education sector, funding will focus on curriculum reform, teacher training, and school infrastructure development, particularly in rural areas. The government also intends to boost digital literacy to prepare young people for the future job market.
The budget further prioritises job creation and entrepreneurship among the youth. Incentives for start-ups, innovation hubs, and vocational training programmes are expected to stimulate employment and economic inclusion.
Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability in budget implementation, noting that the 2026 plan aligns with Morocco’s long-term vision for sustainable growth and social equity.
Economic analysts have welcomed the budget’s focus, describing it as a strategic investment in human capital that could accelerate Morocco’s post-pandemic recovery and enhance its competitiveness across sectors.
